Who can use Telehealth consults

I can consult with anyone in Australia who is legally able to consent to treatment.

If you are under 16 years old, a parent or legal guardian must sit in on the consultation.

What equipment do you need to access Telehealth?

If you can Skype, Zoom or Facetime you can Telehealth.

You’ll need:

  • Access to a stable internet connection
  • A device to access the internet (desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone) This device also needs an inbuilt camera and microphone.

You won’t need to download any software.

How does a Naturopathy Telehealth call work?

 

1. Book your appointment

You can either book your appointment using my online booking calendar or call the clinic on 0439 660-064.

 

2. Receive booking confirmation with Telehealth link

You’ll receive a booking confirmation with a unique Telehealth link.

 

3. Add to your calendar

There is an option to add this to your calendar (iCal, Google, etc.), and the link will pull through to your calendar.

 

4. Reminder email 48 hrs before your appointment

We send a reminder email 48 hours before your appointment with the link also included.

 

5. Before your appointment: what do you need?

Before your appointment ensure you are somewhere private with a reliable and stable internet connection. You can access your Telehealth appointment from a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.

You don’t need to install any software.

6. At your appointment time

At your appointment time, click on the link (in the booking or reminder email or calendar), and you’ll connect to your session. Enable your device’s camera and audio.

We’ll then conduct the consultation as though you were with me in the clinic. The system allows me to share my screen and send you links.

 

7. After the appointment

After the consultation, I’ll email a prescription and summary of the key points of your session.

 

8. Herbs and supplements

If herbs and supplements are prescribed, and you wish to purchase these from the Your Remedy Naturopathy Dispensary, they will be posted or couriered to you. A separate invoice will be issued.

If you are local to Crows Nest, Sydney; you can also arrange in-person collection from the clinic.

Are Naturopathy Telehealth consults covered by Medicare?

No, currently no Naturopathic consults are covered under Medicare.

Do Private Health Care funds cover Naturopathy Telehealth consultations?

From April 2019, changes to Federal Government legislation meant many health funds removed their cover for Naturopathy consults. Please check directly with your health fund to determine if you are covered.

How private and confidential are Telehealth consultations?

The same confidentiality requirements apply to as for face to face consultations. As a practitioner, I will be conducting these consultations in private soundproofed space with only myself present. I recommend that as far a practical you also try and be in a secluded area. The use of headphones can also support privacy.

 

The technology used in Telehealth consultation is a peer to peer encryption and meets the Australian standard for online health consultations.

 

Telehealth consultations are not recorded.

Do you do consultations outside Australia?

No, due to insurance restrictions I do not offer consultations outside of Australia.

How do I cancel a Telehealth consultation?

The same cancellation policy applies to Telehealth consultation as to face to face consultations. If you cancel with more than 24 hours notice, you’ll receive a full refund. For cancellations between 12-24 hours before the appointment, a 50% refund will apply. There will be no refund for cancellations less than 12hours or if you are a “no-show”.
